Individual Services

Individual Advocacy - Staff works with individuals to learn to deal with administrative procedures of various agencies/businesses to secure services or benefits to which the individual is entitled.

Life Skills Training - Staff provides training in daily living skills in areas such as: budgeting; cooking; laundry; etc. Services are also provided to assist with pre-employment needs, such as resume writing and interview process training to assist individuals in maximizing their ability to obtain employment.

Information & Referral - Provided to individuals to assist them in locating appropriate agencies and community resources to meet their needs.

Peer Support - Individuals with disabilities are paired together to develop support and learn disability coping skills. This can be done at a group level also.

Deinstitutionialization - The ILCNEK offers support services for individuals wishing to move out of nursing facilities, and other institutional settings, allowing individuals to live in the communities with various support services.

Home and Community Based Services - The ILCNEK provides Case Management for the State's Medicaid Home and Community Based Physical Disability (PD) Waiver program. The ILCNEK is also a payroll agent for the HCBS Waiver programs.

Persons not meeting qualifications for the HCBS Waivers may enter into a private contract with the ILCNEK for payroll services for their Personal Care Attendant.
